Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) - An Introduction for Teachers

This course provides an introduction to PDA, its history, and controversies over its use as a diagnosis. Participants explore societal norms that create additional challenges for children with PDA, and critically examine the effectiveness of strategies typically used to support autistic children. Alternative mindsets, approaches, and strategies are explored, with several case studies provided for participants to apply their learning to realistic contexts.
